High speed train in Malaga
High speed train to arrive in the province of Malaga in 2006.

The Railway infrastructure Authority has approved the construction of a new station at Bobadilla-Santa Anna, a small village in the municipality of Antequera.
According to sources at the Ministry of Development, it is estimated that the new station will cost 11,6 million euros and will take appoximately 14 months to build. On completion (end 2007) the journey from Malaga to Madrid will take only two and a half hours.

Ministry of development sources predict that 650,000 travellers will pass through Bobadilla annually, turning the station into the main railway junction in Southern Spain.
